Vitamin C Herbal Iced Tea

When you’re looking to strengthen your immune system try skipping supplements that only have 1 nutrient (that are usually made in a lab) and instead try incorporating herbs into your daily routine. Herbs are whole plant foods and therefore contain multiple nutrients that your body needs.

A great way to incorporate herbs into your diet is by drinking herbal iced teas. Here is one of my favorites that’s been on repeat for a while. It’s loaded with vitamin C!!!

The beautiful deep red/purple colors come from the incredible phytonutrients in the herbs. Those phytonutrients are what protect our cells and helps keep our immune systems functioning properly. Not only should you be eating the rainbow but you should be drinking it too!!

1 tablespoon dried hibiscus flowers
1/2 tablespoon dried ginger
1/2 tablespoon dried orange peel
2 ounces elderberry syrup (I used our kits)
1 ounce lime juice
1-2 tablespoons raw honey
3-4 cups filtered water
**buy organic herbs**

Place all herbs in a glass jar. Bring water to a boil and pour into jar with herbs. Stir well to make sure the herbs are saturated. Loosely cover and let this steep until it comes to room temperature. Then add honey, elderberry syrup and lime juice. Stir and place in refrigerator. Can last up to 3-4 days in refrigerator but I always sip on it throughout the day and finish it because it’s so delicious!
