This DIY Herbal Syrup & Tea Kit is a custom blend that is a combination of organic herbs that have traditionally been used to help support your body to keep you breathing easy so that you can enjoy your Spring days with ease. This blend works hard to keep your nasal passageways feeling open and clear by supporting a normal, healthy response to pollen and environmental irritants. This blend supports your body by maintaining normal histamine metabolism as the grass gets greener and flowers start to bloom — so you can continue feeling your best during pollen season and beyond.

FAQ's

How to make (you can also watch the video below)

Syrup Directions: Stove Top & Instant Pot

  • In a large stock pot, add 5 cups (in the video I mistakenly say 4 cups) of distilled or reverse osmosis water and the steep bag.
  • Cover and cook on high until it starts to boil.
  • Lower temperature and simmer for 20 minutes. Be sure to stir a few times.
  • Once it is done cooking, take it off the heat, leave covered and let it cool long enough until you can safely handle the steep bag. Squeeze any excess liquid out of the steep bag and then save the steep bag to make tea (follow directions below to make the tea).
  • Stir in ½ - 1 cup of raw honey. If you can’t eat honey then you can use maple syrup. Or you don’t have to sweeten it at all. Your choice, but I always use honey because of the health benefits. The more honey you use the thicker and sweeter the syrup will be.
  • Pour it into a glass mason jar with the lid, date it  and store in the refrigerator.
  • Instant Pot Option:  Add water and steep bag to an IP and cook on manual high for 10 minutes. Let the pressure release on its own. Once done cooking, follow the instructions above.
  • Syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 months (only if you’ve added honey). If you do not add honey it will only last for 2 weeks in the refrigerator. If you’d like to extend the shelf life to 4-5 months you can simply add 2 tablespoons of raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar to the finished syrup. This will not change the taste of your syrup.

Tea Directions

  • Take the used steep bag and place in a glass jar.
  • Pour 20 oz of boiling water over it and be sure to push down the steep bag so it is submerged under the boiling water.
  • Let this sit for 1-2 hours on the counter. The longer it sits the stronger the tea will be.
  • Once it is done steeping then place a lid on it and store in the fridge for 4-5 days. It will not last more than that in the fridge.
  • To make the tea last longer you could pour it into an ice cube mold and freeze into cubes. Then pop one out when needed and let it melt at room temperature or add just a little hot water to it in a mug so it melts faster. Or add the cube to your favorite smoothie.
  • Now that you are done making your syrup & tea you can still get another use out of the steep bag.  Place the steep bag with all the used herbs into a ziploc bag and store in your freezer. Whenever you are making a smoothie you can take a spoonful of the used herbs and blend into your smoothie. Talk about ZERO waste!!!Â
